This book is devoted to the analysis of certain tendencies in modern higher education, both in the way of practising science, teaching, and organisation of academic life. These phenomena the sense and essence of which is expressed by the concept of corruption (understood in the classical, original sense of decay) and Durkheim's concept of anomie are, according to him, mutually connected. The author also sees the factors of these phenomena through a wider social context and their mutual influence on the world outside of the academy.
